Gavin co-founded Empello in 2012 when it was the first anti-fraud provider to specialise in mobile payments, Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) and Value Added Services (VAS). Empello now has over 60 staff across four continents, and is the leading provider of anti-fraud and compliance services for mobile payments and associated advertising.

Prior to the start of Empello, Gavin was responsible for mobile payments and third party content at T-Mobile UK (now EE/ BT).

Gavin has also held commercial roles in the consumer products and aerospace sectors.
